Scientists have potentially discovered the first evidence for a glueball, a theoretical form of matter. This exotic state is believed to be composed solely of gluons, which are the carriers of the strong nuclear force. The strong force is one of the four fundamental forces in nature, responsible for binding quarks together to form protons and neutrons, and holding atomic nuclei together.
