SC Orders Status Quo in Manipur Road Tender

The Supreme Court has ordered a status quo in a dispute concerning 96 road construction packages worth ₹638 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Manipur. A contractor, Nirbhay Construction, challenged the issuance of Letters of Acceptance to a rival bidder, alleging irregularities and fabricated documents. The court directed the single judge of the Manipur High Court to decide the main writ petition expeditiously, preferably within two months. Until then, the respondents must maintain the status quo regarding the tenders.
