The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a petition seeking a CBI inquiry into the death of Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey. Her mother had alleged murder, not suicide, and demanded a CBI investigation or a reinvestigation. The court cited the unavailability of the body and the filing of a chargesheet under Section 306 of the IPC as reasons for dismissal. The petitioner's lawyer stated they plan to appeal to the Supreme Court. Akanksha Dubey's body was found in a Varanasi hotel room.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट ने भोजपुरी एक्ट्रेस आकांक्षा दुबे की मौत की सीबीआई जांच की मांग वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी है। उनकी माँ ने आत्महत्या नहीं बल्कि हत्या का आरोप लगाया था और सीबीआई जांच या फिर से जांच की मांग की थी। कोर्ट ने शव की अनुपलब्धता और आईपीसी की धारा 306 के तहत चार्जशीट दाखिल होने को खारिज करने का कारण बताया। याचिकाकर्ता के वकील ने कहा कि वे सुप्रीम कोर्ट में अपील करने की योजना बना रहे हैं। आकांक्षा दुबे का शव वाराणसी के एक होटल के कमरे में मिला था।
