Ludhiana Middle Schools Face Shortage Of Sports, Craft Teachers

Nearly 190 government middle schools in Ludhiana district are operating without dedicated teachers for sports, art and craft, and computer subjects. This forces existing staff to cover multiple roles, impacting the quality of co-curricular and skill-based education. Many schools with classes VI to VIII have only four or five teachers, leading to science teachers teaching math and limited computer instruction. Computer teachers from nearby schools visit only twice weekly. While sanctioned posts have increased, vacancies persist, prompting calls for urgent recruitment to fill these essential gaps.

लुधियाना जिले के लगभग 190 सरकारी मिडिल स्कूलों में खेल, कला और शिल्प, और कंप्यूटर विषयों के लिए समर्पित शिक्षक नहीं हैं। इस वजह से मौजूदा स्टाफ को कई भूमिकाएँ निभानी पड़ रही हैं, जिससे सह-पाठयक्रम और कौशल-आधारित शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता प्रभावित हो रही है। कक्षा VI से VIII तक के कई स्कूलों में केवल चार या पाँच शिक्षक हैं, जिसके कारण विज्ञान के शिक्षक गणित पढ़ा रहे हैं और कंप्यूटर का ज्ञान सीमित है। आस-पास के स्कूलों के कंप्यूटर शिक्षक केवल सप्ताह में दो बार आते हैं। स्वीकृत पद बढ़ गए हैं, लेकिन रिक्तियाँ बनी हुई हैं, जिससे इन आवश्यक कमियों को दूर करने के लिए तत्काल भर्ती की माँग की जा रही है।
