पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान ने घोषणा की कि 'ड्रग्स के खिलाफ जंग' अभियान को तेज करने के लिए डिप्टी सुपरिंटेंडेंट ऑफ पुलिस को 117 नई गाड़ियां दी जाएंगी। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि ड्रग्स का सफाया राज्य सरकार की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है और पुलिस को बिना किसी राजनीतिक हस्तक्षेप के तस्करों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने की पूरी आजादी का आश्वासन दिया। मान ने केंद्र सरकार की भी आलोचना की, आरोप लगाया कि पंजाब को अनुचित तरीके से निशाना बनाया जा रहा है जबकि अन्य राज्यों में खुलेआम ड्रग्स बेचे जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने केंद्र से पंजाबियों को बदनाम करने के बजाय अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं और गुजरात से ड्रग्स की तस्करी रोकने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने का आग्रह किया।
