While Vidarbha grapples with drought, the state Public Works Department has estimated Rs 50.42 lakh for repairing doors and windows at the Governor's bungalow. This is part of a larger Rs 3.78 crore refurbishment of the 136-year-old Lok Bhavan complex. The proposal includes scraping and polishing, with a one-month completion deadline. The caretaker stated the complex, housing 50 bungalows, hasn't had civil maintenance since 2011 and requires attention due to neglect and visits from dignitaries like the President and Prime Minister.
