Tata Trusts has challenged the validity of N. Chandrasekaran's reappointment as Tata Sons chairman. They argue that Tata Sons' Articles of Association require affirmative support from a majority of Trust-nominated directors, a condition they claim was not met. Tata Trusts stated that a chairman's casting vote cannot override this requirement. They also denied any deadlock occurred at the September 17, 2026 board meeting, asserting the chairman's casting vote lacked authority.

टाटा ट्रस्ट्स ने एन. चंद्रशेखरन की टाटा संस के चेयरमैन के तौर पर दोबारा नियुक्ति को चुनौती दी है। उनका कहना है कि टाटा संस के आर्टिकल्स ऑफ एसोसिएशन के अनुसार, ट्रस्ट द्वारा नामित ज्यादातर डायरेक्टर्स का समर्थन जरूरी है, जो पूरा नहीं हुआ। ट्रस्ट्स ने कहा कि चेयरमैन का कास्टिंग वोट इस नियम को नहीं बदल सकता। उन्होंने 17 सितंबर 2026 की बोर्ड मीटिंग में किसी गतिरोध से इनकार किया और कहा कि चेयरमैन के कास्टिंग वोट के पास अधिकार नहीं था।
