Kerala High Court Orders Release of ₹9.73 Crore for 225 Victim Compensation Claims

The Kerala High Court has ordered the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to release ₹9.73 crore to settle 225 victim compensation claims within five weeks. A Division Bench directed the Member Secretary of the Kerala State Legal Services Authority to monitor disbursement status weekly with District Legal Services Authorities. To prevent delays, court secretaries are to collect necessary victim documents while cases are pending. The court also addressed revised honorarium rates for mediators at the Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre, directing the government to release payments at these new rates.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने एडिशनल चीफ सेक्रेटरी (होम) को पांच हफ्तों के अंदर 225 पीड़ित मुआवजा दावों के निपटारे के लिए ₹9.73 करोड़ जारी करने का आदेश दिया है। एक डिवीजन बेंच ने केरल राज्य विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण के सदस्य सचिव को जिला विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरणों के साथ साप्ताहिक रूप से भुगतान की स्थिति की निगरानी करने का निर्देश दिया। देरी से बचने के लिए, कोर्ट सचिव मामलों के लंबित रहने के दौरान आवश्यक पीड़ित दस्तावेज एकत्र करेंगे। कोर्ट ने केरल राज्य मध्यस्थता और सुलह केंद्र के मध्यस्थों के लिए संशोधित मानदेय दरों को भी संबोधित किया, सरकार को इन नई दरों पर भुगतान जारी करने का निर्देश दिया।
