Modifying motorcycles for enhanced performance and aesthetics is a costly craze that often violates the Motor Vehicles Act. While riders seek bikes reflecting their personality, alterations to engines, exhausts, and air intakes can compromise safety, emissions, and reliability. These modifications, costing lakhs, are not covered by insurance and can lead to legal violations. Greater Chennai Police recently arrested 21 bikers for performing illegal stunts on modified bikes, highlighting the dangers and illegality of such practices.
