Andhra Youths Recruited Into Russian Military After Being Lured With Job Offers

Five young men from Andhra Pradesh, seeking employment in Russia, have allegedly been recruited into the Russian military. Two of them, including 19-year-old J Vamsi, have released video messages appealing for rescue. They claim they were promised food packing jobs but were instead enlisted and potentially sent to the Russia-Ukraine border. The youths also stated they unknowingly signed documents in Russian, leading to them being told they are no longer Indian citizens. Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh has directed officials to coordinate efforts for their safe return.

रोजगार की तलाश में रूस गए आंध्र प्रदेश के पांच युवकों को कथित तौर पर रूसी सेना में भर्ती कर लिया गया है। इनमें से 19 वर्षीय जे. वामसी सहित दो युवकों ने बचाव की गुहार लगाते हुए वीडियो संदेश जारी किए हैं। उन्होंने दावा किया कि उन्हें फूड पैकिंग की नौकरी का वादा किया गया था, लेकिन इसके बजाय उन्हें सेना में भर्ती कर लिया गया और संभवतः रूस-यूक्रेन सीमा पर भेज दिया गया। युवकों ने यह भी कहा कि उन्होंने अनजाने में रूसी भाषा में दस्तावेजों पर हस्ताक्षर कर दिए, जिसके बाद उन्हें बताया गया कि वे अब भारतीय नागरिक नहीं हैं।
