Fraternity Key To India's Progress, Says Ex-SC Judge

Fraternity must be India’s foremost goal, as equality and liberty cannot survive without it, stated former Supreme Court judge Lavu Nageswara Rao. He noted that despite being a large democracy, India suffers from divisive forces like religion and caste, hindering progress even after 75 years of Independence. Justice Rao highlighted that only political independence was achieved, not social independence, with caste divisions persisting for electoral gains.

पूर्व सुप्रीम कोर्ट जज लावू नागेश्वर राव ने कहा कि भाईचारा भारत का सबसे बड़ा लक्ष्य होना चाहिए, क्योंकि इसके बिना समानता और स्वतंत्रता नहीं टिक सकती। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत एक बड़ा लोकतंत्र होने के बावजूद धर्म और जाति जैसी विभाजनकारी ताकतों से जूझ रहा है, जो आजादी के 75 साल बाद भी प्रगति में बाधा डाल रही हैं। राव ने बताया कि केवल राजनीतिक आजादी मिली है, सामाजिक नहीं, और जातिगत भेदभाव चुनावी फायदे के लिए जारी है।
