Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for the abolition of the veto power held by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. He argues the current system is unjust and hinders global stability, citing deadlocks on issues like the Gaza and Ukraine wars. Erdogan proposed a UN model that encompasses all members, not just five. Ending the veto would require a UN Charter amendment, needing approval from two-thirds of the UN General Assembly and ratification by two-thirds of UN members, including all five permanent members.

तुर्किये के राष्ट्रपति रेचेप तैयप एर्दोगन ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद के पांच स्थायी सदस्यों के वीटो अधिकार को खत्म करने की मांग की है। उनका कहना है कि यह व्यवस्था अन्यायपूर्ण है और गाजा व यूक्रेन जैसे मुद्दों पर गतिरोध के कारण वैश्विक स्थिरता में बाधा डालती है। एर्दोगन ने एक ऐसे संयुक्त राष्ट्र मॉडल का प्रस्ताव दिया है जिसमें सिर्फ पांच नहीं, बल्कि सभी सदस्य शामिल हों। वीटो खत्म करने के लिए संयुक्त राष्ट्र चार्टर में संशोधन की आवश्यकता होगी।
