Coal India Denies Supply Shortfall to NTPC Amidst Critical Coal Stocks

Coal India Ltd (CIL) has stated it met and exceeded its contractual coal supply commitments to NTPC Ltd, despite NTPC reporting critically low coal stocks at several plants. CIL supplied 97 million tonnes of coal to NTPC and its joint ventures during April-September of FY27, a 5% increase year-on-year. This comes after an NTPC executive noted most plants had only about a week's supply.
