Sebi to Examine UPI Fee Concerns Raised

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) will examine concerns raised by discount brokers regarding the new merchant discount rate for large fund transfers via UPI. Sebi chief Tuhin Kanta Pandey stated that the regulator will look into the issues to find ways to ease them. The new framework, effective October 15, imposes a 0.02% MDR, capped at ₹300, on capital market transactions.

सेबी (Sebi) बड़े फंड ट्रांसफर के लिए UPI पर नए मर्चेंट डिस्काउंट रेट (MDR) को लेकर डिस्काउंट ब्रोकर्स की चिंताओं की जांच करेगा। सेबी के प्रमुख तुहिन कांता पांडे ने कहा कि नियामक इन मुद्दों को देखेगा ताकि उन्हें आसान बनाया जा सके। 15 अक्टूबर से लागू हो रहे नए नियम के तहत, कैपिटल मार्केट ट्रांजैक्शन पर 0.02% MDR लगेगा, जिसकी सीमा ₹300 होगी।
