Indian Stock Market Sees Record 8-Week Decline, Investors Lose ₹6 Lakh Crore

TV9 Hindi · stocks

The Indian stock market experienced a significant downturn, with the Sensex falling 570 points to close below 72,000 and the Nifty dropping 199 points to 22,421. This sharp sell-off resulted in a market capitalization loss of approximately ₹6 lakh crore for investors. The decline was primarily driven by substantial foreign investor outflows, rising US bond yields, and weaker-than-expected auto sales figures. Notably, the market has now seen an eight-week losing streak, a record not seen since the dot-com crash of 2001.
