Times of India · education
Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) has called off its 17-day hunger strike after the administration agreed to revoke rustication orders against union office-bearers and withdraw FIRs filed against students. The students began their protest, with 18 students initially participating. The administration also agreed to review the controversial chief proctor’s office manual, which penalizes campus protests. A committee including student representatives will review the manual and recommend changes. Other assurances include committees to examine reinstating the JNU Entrance Examination and increasing merit-cum-means scholarships.
