Indian stock markets experienced a dramatic reversal, with both the Sensex and Nifty indices crashing after a strong opening. The BSE Sensex, which opened above 74,000 and touched a high of 74,682.19, plummeted by approximately 1400 points to trade around 73,281. Similarly, the NSE Nifty fell 448 points from its day's high of 23,120 to trade at 22,672. This sharp decline is attributed to rising crude oil prices due to West Asian tensions and a decrease in US crude oil reserves, impacting India as a major importer.
