Bengal College Union Elections Likely Next Year, Chief Minister Hints

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari indicated that college union elections may be held in the state next year. He stated that the Trinamool Congress government had not permitted student union elections for several years. Adhikari also criticized what he termed “dimagi Naxals” at Jadavpur University, referencing slogans heard at rallies. He mentioned significant central and state government investment allocated for developing Jadavpur University into a centre of excellence.

पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने संकेत दिया कि राज्य में अगले साल कॉलेज यूनियन चुनाव हो सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि तृणमूल कांग्रेस सरकार ने कई सालों से छात्र संघ चुनाव की अनुमति नहीं दी थी। अधिकारी ने जाधवपुर विश्वविद्यालय में "दिमागी नक्सल" कहे जाने वालों की भी आलोचना की, जिसका जिक्र उन्होंने रैलियों में सुने गए नारों के संदर्भ में किया। उन्होंने जाधवपुर विश्वविद्यालय को उत्कृष्टता केंद्र के रूप में विकसित करने के लिए आवंटित महत्वपूर्ण केंद्रीय और राज्य सरकार के निवेश का उल्लेख किया।
