Bengal GST Collection Surges 17% in October Driven by Festive Spending
Times of India · business
West Bengal recorded a significant 17% year-on-year increase in GST collection for October, reaching Rs 6,055 crore compared to Rs 5,175 crore in the same month last year. This rise was primarily fueled by increased consumer spending and business activity during the festive season, particularly Durga Puja. While the state saw a cumulative GST growth of 1.1% from April to October, this is below the national average of 7.4%. Officials expressed hope that this positive trend in revenue collection will continue in the coming months.
