EU Ready to Send Observers for Palestinian Elections After Two Decades

The European Union has announced its readiness to deploy election observers for the upcoming Palestinian legislative elections scheduled for November 28. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated that Palestinians have the right to choose their representatives through credible, inclusive, and transparent elections. These polls, the first in nearly two decades, aim to renew the legitimacy of Palestinian institutions after a long hiatus since 2006. The elections face significant logistical challenges due to Israeli measures in occupied territories.

यूरोपीय संघ ने 28 नवंबर को होने वाले फिलिस्तीनी विधायी चुनावों के लिए चुनाव पर्यवेक्षक भेजने की अपनी तत्परता की घोषणा की है। यूरोपीय संघ की विदेश नीति प्रमुख काजा कैलास ने कहा कि फिलिस्तीनियों को विश्वसनीय, समावेशी और पारदर्शी चुनावों के माध्यम से अपने प्रतिनिधियों को चुनने का अधिकार है। ये चुनाव, जो लगभग दो दशकों में पहली बार हो रहे हैं, 2006 के लंबे अंतराल के बाद फिलिस्तीनी संस्थानों की वैधता को नवीनीकृत करने का लक्ष्य रखते हैं। कब्जे वाले क्षेत्रों में इजरायली उपायों के कारण चुनावों में महत्वपूर्ण लॉजिस्टिक चुनौतियाँ हैं।
