Someone has been secretly poisoning mature pine trees at Burnt Cedar Beach near Lake Tahoe since 2022, with 28 trees now targeted. Investigators have documented damage across three separate periods, with six trees affected in 2022, six in 2024, and 16 in 2026. At least 10 trees have died, and the estimated loss exceeds $300,000. The Incline Village General Improvement District and private donors are offering a $147,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
