High School Basketball Coach Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Referee

Connecticut high school coach Thomas Sparks, 37, has resigned and been arrested following an alleged assault on a referee during a youth basketball game on October 24. Police reported that Sparks tripped the official, pushed him down, and then put his arm around his neck. Sparks faces charges including assault and strangulation. He has since resigned from his coaching position at Staples High School and his role with Connecticut Elite. He is due back in court on November 12.

कनेक्टिकट के हाई स्कूल कोच थॉमस स्पार्क्स, 37, ने 24 अक्टूबर को एक युवा बास्केटबॉल खेल के दौरान रेफरी पर कथित हमले के बाद इस्तीफा दे दिया है और उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। पुलिस ने बताया कि स्पार्क्स ने अधिकारी को ठोकर मारी, उसे नीचे धकेला और फिर उसकी गर्दन पर हाथ रख लिया। स्पार्क्स पर हमले और गला घोंटने सहित आरोप लगाए गए हैं। उन्होंने तब से स्टेपल्स हाई स्कूल में अपने कोचिंग पद और कनेक्टिकट एलिट के साथ अपनी भूमिका से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। वह 12 नवंबर को अदालत में फिर से पेश होंगे।
