All retail liquor stores across Delhi will be closed on October 10 due to a protest at Jantar Mantar. Licensed restaurants, bars, and clubs will remain open. The Delhi government ordered the shutdown as a preventive measure to maintain public order, following inputs from the Delhi Police. This closure is planned amid protests over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions. The liquor business is a significant revenue generator for Delhi, contributing Rs 8,254.8 crore in excise duty and VAT in 2024-25.

जंतर मंतर पर विरोध प्रदर्शन के कारण दिल्ली की सभी खुदरा शराब की दुकानें 10 अक्टूबर को बंद रहेंगी। लाइसेंस प्राप्त रेस्तरां, बार और क्लब खुले रहेंगे। दिल्ली सरकार ने दिल्ली पुलिस से मिली जानकारी के बाद, सार्वजनिक व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए एहतियाती उपाय के तौर पर यह बंदी का आदेश दिया है। यह बंदी चुनावी सूची के पुनरीक्षण में कथित अनियमितताओं के विरोध के बीच नियोजित है। शराब का व्यवसाय दिल्ली के लिए राजस्व का एक महत्वपूर्ण स्रोत है, जिसने 2024-25 में उत्पाद शुल्क और वैट में ₹8,254.8 करोड़ का योगदान दिया है।
