Angel Reese has been instrumental in the Atlanta Dream's WNBA playoff run, earning the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year award. Teammate Lexie Brown highlighted Reese's defensive versatility as the 'missing piece' the team lacked, comparing her impact to former star Angel McCoughtry. Reese led the league with 12.1 rebounds per game and set WNBA single-season records for rebounds. Her defensive presence significantly reduced opponents' scoring, contributing to the Dream reaching the semifinals for the first time since 2018.
