Indian Equities See Broad Market Selloff: 350 Stocks Crash Up To 60% in Two Months

Economic Times Markets · stocks

Indian equities have experienced a significant selloff, with 350 out of 500 stocks on the NSE delivering negative returns over the past two months. The decline, ranging from 18% to 64% for the worst-hit stocks, is attributed to factors including elevated crude prices, rising US bond yields, a weak rupee, and sustained foreign selling. This broad-based weakness has impacted various sectors, including power, real estate, consumer goods, and capital goods.
