Delhi HC Warns DU, Police on Election Violence

The Delhi High Court has warned Delhi University and the Delhi Police to act against hooliganism during student union elections. A bench threatened to stay the vote counting, scheduled for September 18, if authorities fail to explain their actions by tomorrow. The court expressed dismay over the conversion of democracy into a criminal society, citing violations of election codes and instances of violence.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी और दिल्ली पुलिस को छात्र संघ चुनावों में गुंडागर्दी के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने की चेतावनी दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि अगर कल तक कार्रवाई का जवाब नहीं मिला तो 18 सितंबर को होने वाली वोटों की गिनती पर रोक लगा दी जाएगी। कोर्ट ने चुनाव आचार संहिता के उल्लंघन और हिंसा की घटनाओं पर चिंता जताई और कहा कि लोकतंत्र को आपराधिक समाज में बदला जा रहा है।
