Actress Wanted to Play Ravana's Sister, Cast as Lakshman's Wife in Ramayan

Actress Sonia Balani, known for 'The Kerala Story', revealed she auditioned to play Ravana's sister, Surpanakha, in the upcoming film 'Ramayan'. However, director Nitesh Tiwari cast her as Urmila, Lakshman's wife. Balani expressed her desire to play a negative role but trusts Tiwari's vision, believing the film's strong execution will connect audiences with the characters. She stated that Urmila's character will appear in both parts of the film, with the second part scheduled for a 2027 release.

The Kerala Story' की अभिनेत्री सोनिया बलानी ने बताया कि उन्होंने अपकमिंग फिल्म 'Ramayan' में रावण की बहन शूर्पणखा का किरदार निभाने के लिए ऑडिशन दिया था। लेकिन डायरेक्टर नितेश तिवारी ने उन्हें लक्ष्मण की पत्नी उर्मिला के रोल में कास्ट किया। बलानी ने कहा कि वह निगेटिव रोल करना चाहती थीं, पर उन्हें तिवारी के विजन पर भरोसा है और उन्हें लगता है कि फिल्म का मजबूत एग्जीक्यूशन दर्शकों को किरदारों से जोड़ेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि उर्मिला का किरदार फिल्म के दोनों हिस्सों में दिखेगा, जिसका दूसरा हिस्सा 2027 में रिलीज होगा।
