Pune District Kharif Acreage Suffers 65% Damage

Pune district has experienced devastating crop losses due to a deficient monsoon, with nearly 65% of its kharif crop acreage damaged. This amounts to 1.3 lakh hectares out of a total 2 lakh hectares. When combined with other crop damages, the total affected agricultural area exceeds 3.18 lakh hectares. Officials describe the scale of damage as unprecedented, with significant losses in sugarcane, onions, and vegetable crops, particularly in rainfall-scarce tehsils.

पुणे जिले में मानसून की कमी के कारण फसलों का भारी नुकसान हुआ है। खरीफ की कुल 2 लाख हेक्टेयर में से लगभग 1.3 लाख हेक्टेयर यानी 65% फसलें बर्बाद हो गई हैं। अन्य फसलों को हुए नुकसान को मिलाकर कुल 3.18 लाख हेक्टेयर से ज़्यादा कृषि क्षेत्र प्रभावित हुआ है। अधिकारियों का कहना है कि गन्ने, प्याज और सब्जियों की फसलों को खासकर कम बारिश वाले तहसीलों में अभूतपूर्व नुकसान हुआ है।
