Salem Railway Goods Shed Workers Protest 24-Hour Work Order

Workers at the Salem railway goods shed protested on Saturday against a new 24-hour work system. They are demanding the withdrawal of this order and the restoration of the previous 6 am to 6 pm operational hours. The workers also voiced opposition to potential privatization of railway goods sheds. Additionally, they are pressing for long-pending welfare demands, including identity cards, ESI and PF scheme implementation, and basic amenities like drinking water and restrooms. The protest was organized by the CITU-affiliated Salem railway goods shed loading and unloading workers’ union.

सलेम रेलवे गुड्स शेड 24 घंटे काम के आदेश के खिलाफ मजदूरों का विरोध

शनिवार को सलेम रेलवे गुड्स शेड के मजदूरों ने 24 घंटे काम की नई व्यवस्था के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। वे इस आदेश को वापस लेने और सुबह 6 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक के पिछले परिचालन घंटों को बहाल करने की मांग कर रहे हैं। मजदूरों ने रेलवे गुड्स शेड के संभावित निजीकरण का भी विरोध किया। इसके अलावा, वे पहचान पत्र, ESI और PF योजना के कार्यान्वयन, और पीने के पानी व शौचालयों जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाओं सहित लंबे समय से लंबित कल्याणकारी मांगों को भी उठा रहे हैं। विरोध प्रदर्शन CITU से संबद्ध सलेम रेलवे गुड्स शेड लोडिंग और अनलोडिंग वर्कर्स यूनियन द्वारा आयोजित किया गया था।
