Coffee May Alter Gut Microbes Linked to Mood
Times of India - India · india
A new study suggests coffee may impact brain function through gut microbes, not just caffeine. Researchers found both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee altered gut microbes associated with mood and cognitive function. Participants who resumed coffee drinking after a break reported reduced stress, depression, and impulsivity. While caffeinated coffee was linked to less anxiety and better attention, decaf showed improvements in learning and memory, though the study was small and doesn't prove direct mental health benefits.
