The operation is reportedly connected to an investigation into alleged fraud involving immigration documents submitted on Omar’s behalf by her late father when she was a child. Omar, a prominent progressive Democrat and critic of former President Trump's immigration policies, arrived in the US as a child refugee from Somalia. The search began around 6 a.m. and involved agents from Homeland Security Investigations.
