The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has proposed significant changes to the SME IPO framework, shifting eligibility from paid-up capital to market capitalization. Companies with a post-issue market cap up to ₹1,000 crore would list exclusively on the SME platform. Sebi also plans to reduce lock-in periods for pre-IPO investors and lower underwriting costs. Additionally, the regulator is considering raising the minimum average operating profit requirement to ₹3 crore annually. These proposals aim to refine rules for the growing SME segment while maintaining investor safeguards.
SME IPO
