New Dinosaur Species Identified From Fossil Overlooked For 100 Years
CBS News · world
A new dinosaur species, Invictibellatrix amberina, has been identified from a fossil discovered 100 years ago and stored at the Natural History Museum in London. This long-clawed predator, the size of a tiger and a cousin to T. rex, hunted with its arms and claws rather than its mouth. Researchers believe it was between 10 and 13 feet long and would have been a formidable threat. The fossil, a piece of a skull, was originally found on the Isle of Wight and acquired by the museum in 1924.
