Fisherman Dies in Kozhikode Boat Incident, Another Worker Under Treatment

A migrant worker from West Bengal, Sachin Das, has died from suspected toxic gas inhalation inside a fishing boat's storeroom at Kozhikode's Beypore harbour. He was undergoing treatment after losing consciousness on October 9, 2026, along with another worker, Dilip Sur, who also died earlier. Both were employed on the fishing boat Tesla and were collecting stock when the incident occurred due to a lack of fresh air. This follows a similar fatal incident in April 2026, where two fishermen died from suspected toxic smoke inhalation.

पश्चिम बंगाल के प्रवासी मजदूर सचिन दास की कोझिकोड के बेपोर बंदरगाह पर एक मछली पकड़ने वाली नाव के स्टोररूम में संदिग्ध जहरीली गैस के कारण मौत हो गई है। 9 अक्टूबर 2026 को बेहोश होने के बाद उनका इलाज चल रहा था, साथ ही एक अन्य मजदूर दिलीप सूर की भी पहले मौत हो चुकी थी। दोनों मछली पकड़ने वाली नाव टेस्ला पर काम कर रहे थे और ताजी हवा की कमी के कारण यह घटना तब हुई जब वे स्टॉक इकट्ठा कर रहे थे। यह अप्रैल 2026 में हुई एक समान घातक घटना के बाद हुआ है, जिसमें दो मछुआरों की संदिग्ध जहरीली धुएं के कारण मौत हो गई थी।
