CDSCO Cancels FatX Cosmetic Registration Over Misleading Drug Claims

CDSCO has cancelled the import registration of the South Korean cosmetic product FatX solution. The regulator found discrepancies between claims on the importer's website and the approved product label. FatX was marketed as a fat-dissolving treatment, which CDSCO classified as drug claims, not cosmetic ones. The importer, Tekno Midas Aesthetics, received a show-cause notice for violating cosmetic definitions. Despite a response, the claims were deemed unsatisfactory, leading to the voluntary surrender and cancellation of the registration.
