Vasava, who is serving a seven-year jail term for assault and extortion, sought bail to meet his stepbrother. The stepbrother is currently in critical condition at Surat Civil Hospital. Vasava had initially requested 30 days to appear for examinations but later limited his plea to visiting his ailing brother. The court approved this specific request for a short duration.

गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने AAP विधायक चैतर वसावा को पुलिस सुरक्षा के साथ एक दिन की जमानत दी है। वसावा, जो मारपीट और जबरन वसूली के मामले में सात साल की जेल की सजा काट रहे हैं, ने अपने सौतेले भाई से मिलने के लिए जमानत मांगी थी। सौतेला भाई सूरत सिविल अस्पताल में गंभीर हालत में है। वसावा ने शुरू में परीक्षाओं में बैठने के लिए 30 दिनों की मोहलत मांगी थी, लेकिन बाद में उन्होंने अपने बीमार भाई से मिलने की अपनी अर्जी को सीमित कर दिया। अदालत ने थोड़े समय के लिए इस विशेष अनुरोध को मंजूरी दे दी।
