Kolkata's streets and bridges are being adorned with vibrant pink, orange, and yellow colours as part of a beautification drive before Durga Puja. Traditional Bengali 'Alpana' art designs are also being painted on major intersections and underpasses. While the initiative aims to enhance the city's festive look, some residents have raised concerns that the bright colours might distract drivers. Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul highlighted the collaborative effort of artists from different communities in creating the Alpana at Park Circus, symbolizing unity and brotherhood.
