Times of India - Sports · sports

Sachin Tendulkar has expressed confidence in Joe Root's ability to surpass his Test run record, recalling Root's impressive debut in 2012. Root is currently second on the all-time Test run-scoring list with 14,278 runs, needing 1,643 more to overtake Tendulkar's 15,921. While Root has already surpassed Tendulkar in Test half-centuries, Tendulkar's overall run tally remains the highest. Tendulkar also reiterated his proposal to restructure ODI cricket into two 25-over innings to improve the balance between bat and ball.
