Villagers Oppose Sewage Plant in Vaniyambadi

Residents of Valayambattu village have strongly opposed the proposed setting up of a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in their area. They fear the plant, planned on a two-acre plot, will pollute groundwater and the Palar River, impacting agriculture and livelihoods. Municipal officials stated the plant is necessary to treat wastewater from Vaniyambadi town and prevent current pollution of local lakes and ponds.

वैलयाम्बट्टू गांव के लोगों ने अपने इलाके में सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट (STP) लगाने का कड़ा विरोध किया है। उन्हें डर है कि दो एकड़ ज़मीन पर बनने वाला यह प्लांट भूजल और पालार नदी को प्रदूषित करेगा, जिससे खेती और रोज़ी-रोटी पर असर पड़ेगा। नगर निगम के अधिकारियों का कहना है कि वaniyambadi शहर के गंदे पानी को साफ करने और मौजूदा प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए यह प्लांट ज़रूरी है।
