Rajasthan Sees Fewer Rape, Murder Cases; NDPS Offences Rise 35%

Rajasthan recorded a decrease in rape, molestation, murder, and robbery cases during the first nine months of 2026 compared to the previous year. Rape cases fell by 356, while POCSO cases declined by 478 and molestation cases dropped by 603. However, registrations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act saw a significant 35% increase, with 1,815 more cases registered. Police attribute this rise to intensified action against drug traffickers and gangs. Cases under the Arms Act and Excise Act also saw an increase.
