SC Scholarship Irregularities: PAC Initiates Privilege Motion Against 6 State Chief Secretaries

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC), led by Congress MP K C Venugopal, has initiated a privilege motion against the Chief Secretaries of six states. These officials failed to appear for a crucial meeting to investigate irregularities in the distribution of pre-matric and post-matric scholarships for SC students. An audit revealed students waiting up to 48 months for pre-matric dues and 89 months for post-matric dues, with some receiving nothing. The PAC has taken this non-appearance as contempt and will inform the Lok Sabha Speaker for further action.

कांग्रेस सांसद K C Venugopal की अगुवाई वाली पब्लिक अकाउंट्स कमेटी (PAC) ने छह राज्यों के मुख्य सचिवों के खिलाफ विशेषाधिकार प्रस्ताव शुरू किया है। इन अधिकारियों ने SC छात्रों के लिए प्री-मैट्रिक और पोस्ट-मैट्रिक छात्रवृत्ति के वितरण में अनियमितताओं की जांच के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण बैठक में भाग नहीं लिया था। एक ऑडिट में पता चला कि प्री-मैट्रिक बकाये के लिए छात्र 48 महीने तक और पोस्ट-मैट्रिक बकाये के लिए 89 महीने तक इंतजार कर रहे थे, जबकि कुछ को कुछ भी नहीं मिला। PAC ने इस अनुपस्थिति को अवमानना माना है और आगे की कार्रवाई के लिए लोक सभा अध्यक्ष को सूचित करेगी।
