UK Accountant Fined ₹1 Crore For 'Grossly Offensive' Emails To Ex-Boss

A UK-based accountant, Edward Franklin, has been ordered to pay nearly £80,000 (approximately ₹1 crore) for sending 'grossly offensive' emails to his former boss and the boss's wife. The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) imposed a £5,000 penalty and £73,600 in costs. Franklin admitted his remarks were "completely unacceptable, offensive, hurtful and vindictive." The tribunal found his conduct fell significantly short of professional standards and was likely to bring the profession into disrepute.
