India's smartphone market is seeing a slowdown in the transition to 5G phones, with 4G models regaining popularity in affordable segments. Despite rapid 5G network expansion, rising component costs, particularly for memory, are making budget 5G phones more expensive. This has led to a significant drop in shipments for smartphones priced below Rs 15,000. Consequently, 4G smartphone shipments are projected to grow, reversing the previous trend towards 5G adoption.
