BJP Nominates Former Trinamool MP Koel Mallick To Rajya Sabha

The Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated former Trinamool Congress MP Rukmini Mallick, also known as Koel Mallick, to the Rajya Sabha. Ms. Mallick was initially elected to the Upper House by the Trinamool Congress in April of this year. She later resigned from her position on July 16. This nomination marks the fourth instance of a former Trinamool Congress MP being nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the BJP after resigning from the party. Elections for 12 Rajya Sabha seats are scheduled for October 16.

भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने पूर्व तृणमूल कांग्रेस सांसद रुक्मिणी मलिक, जिन्हें कोयल मलिक के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, को राज्यसभा के लिए नामांकित किया है। सुश्री मलिक को इसी साल अप्रैल में तृणमूल कांग्रेस द्वारा उच्च सदन के लिए चुना गया था। उन्होंने बाद में 16 जुलाई को अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया। यह नामांकन तृणमूल कांग्रेस के किसी पूर्व सांसद के पार्टी से इस्तीफा देने के बाद बीजेपी द्वारा राज्यसभा के लिए नामांकित होने का चौथा मामला है। 12 राज्यसभा सीटों के लिए चुनाव 16 अक्टूबर को होने वाले हैं।
