BJP Alleges Kozhikode Corporation Violated HC Order With CEC Resolution

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Kozhikode Corporation Council of violating a High Court order by passing a resolution demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. BJP Kozhikode city district president K.P. Prakash Babu stated that a 2023 High Court ruling, based on Kerala Municipality Rules, prohibits resolutions on national issues within the Corporation's administrative jurisdiction. Babu alleged that the resolution, passed with support from LDF and UDF councillors, aims to divert attention from local issues and shield the ruling CPI(M).

भारतीय जनता पार्टी (बीजेपी) ने कोझिकोड कॉर्पोरेशन काउंसिल पर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग करने वाला प्रस्ताव पारित करके हाई कोर्ट के आदेश का उल्लंघन करने का आरोप लगाया है। बीजेपी कोझिकोड शहर जिला अध्यक्ष के.पी. प्रकाश बाबू ने कहा कि केरल नगरपालिका नियमों के आधार पर 2023 के हाई कोर्ट के फैसले में कॉर्पोरेशन के प्रशासनिक अधिकार क्षेत्र के भीतर राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर प्रस्तावों को प्रतिबंधित किया गया है। बाबू ने आरोप लगाया कि एलडीएफ और यूडीएफ पार्षदों के समर्थन से पारित प्रस्ताव का उद्देश्य स्थानीय मुद्दों से ध्यान भटकाना और सत्ताधारी सीपीआई (एम) को बचाना है।
