Calcutta University Revamps UG Grading System, Reintroduces Attendance Marks

Calcutta University has introduced a new undergraduate grading system and brought back attendance marks to enhance student engagement and simplify academic assessment. This revised system, approved by the university syndicate, will be implemented for students admitted from the 2026-27 academic session. Under the new structure, students will receive grades and grade points based on their marks, with specific categories for performance ranging from 'Outstanding' to 'Fail'. Additionally, classroom attendance will now contribute up to five marks towards the overall assessment, encouraging regular participation.

कलकत्ता यूनिवर्सिटी ने छात्र जुड़ाव बढ़ाने और अकादमिक मूल्यांकन को सरल बनाने के लिए एक नई अंडरग्रेजुएट ग्रेडिंग प्रणाली शुरू की है और हाजिरी के अंक वापस लाए हैं। विश्वविद्यालय सिंडिकेट द्वारा अनुमोदित इस संशोधित प्रणाली को 2026-27 शैक्षणिक सत्र से नामांकित छात्रों के लिए लागू किया जाएगा। नई संरचना के तहत, छात्रों को उनके अंकों के आधार पर ग्रेड और ग्रेड पॉइंट मिलेंगे, जिसमें 'उत्कृष्ट' से 'फेल' तक के प्रदर्शन के लिए विशिष्ट श्रेणियां होंगी। इसके अतिरिक्त, कक्षा में उपस्थिति अब समग्र मूल्यांकन में पांच अंकों तक का योगदान देगी, जिससे नियमित भागीदारी को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
