Nepalese farmers are experiencing severe crop damage from wildlife, with losses reaching up to 90% for maize in Gandaki Province. Rhesus macaques, wild boars, and porcupines are the primary culprits, destroying an average of 50.3% of maize production. While a relief mechanism exists, farmers may need to submit up to 12 documents for a maximum of Rs 10,000. Lawmakers are now urging for a national strategy to combat these escalating crop losses.
