While refusing to entertain the state's challenge to Tuteja's bail in fresh graft cases, a bench noted a strong suspicion of his involvement in corruption. The court clarified that the high court's observations during bail proceedings would not influence the ongoing trial. Tuteja faces investigations in multiple corruption cases, including alleged liquor scam and District Mineral Fund irregularities.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने छत्तीसगढ़ सरकार को रिटायर्ड IAS अधिकारी अनिल टुटेजा की ज़मानत रद्द कराने के लिए हाई कोर्ट जाने की इजाज़त दे दी है, अगर वह इस रियायत का दुरुपयोग करते हैं। नए भ्रष्टाचार के मामलों में टुटेजा की ज़मानत को चुनौती देने वाली राज्य की याचिका पर सुनवाई से इनकार करते हुए, एक बेंच ने भ्रष्टाचार में उनकी संलिप्तता के पुख्ता शक का ज़िक्र किया। अदालत ने स्पष्ट किया कि ज़मानत की कार्यवाही के दौरान हाई कोर्ट की टिप्पणियां चल रही मुकदमे को प्रभावित नहीं करेंगी। टुटेजा कथित शराब घोटाला और डिस्ट्रिक्ट मिनरल फंड की अनियमितताओं सहित कई भ्रष्टाचार के मामलों में जांच का सामना कर रहे हैं।
