Pakistan Lost USD 40 Billion Since India Trade Suspension: Business Body
India Today · business
Pakistan has incurred an estimated economic loss of USD 40 billion since trade with India was suspended in 2019, according to Noor Muhammad Qasuri, head of the Pak-India Business Council. The suspension has forced Pakistani businesses to import raw materials and goods from distant markets, increasing costs and delivery times. Industries like pharmaceuticals and textiles have been particularly affected, facing higher expenses for essential imports like cotton. Qasuri urged the restoration of commercial ties, stating it would benefit businesses, boost investment, and foster regional cooperation.
