Fattest Jurassic Belemnite Ever Discovered in Wyoming

Researchers have identified a new species of squid-like animal, Wyoteuthis linsterorum, from two fossils found in Wyoming, USA. This belemnite is described as the "fattest ever discovered," measuring up to 6cm wide, significantly broader than typical specimens. The discovery is notable as this family of belemnites was thought to have died out millions of years ago and not previously recorded in North America from the Late Jurassic period.
